Rotary Club of Clearwater East

The Rotary Club of Clearwater East, part of Rotary International, is a group of local citizens focused on community improvement and friendship. Members meet regularly for luncheons, engage in community projects, and participate in social activities to develop shared goals and incorporate Rotary ideals into their lives.

Membership is open to men and women of college age and above. Members are expected to participate in club events, assist where needed, support club activities financially, and contribute towards improving the community both locally and globally.

Active members plan and execute projects with help from volunteers, who may be family members, neighbors, or other community members. If you are interested in joining, please send an email to [email protected].

Rotary Club of Clearwater East Foundation

Established in 1987, The Rotary Club of Clearwater East Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 tax exempt private community charitable foundation. The members of Clearwater East Rotary Club are the members of the foundation.

The foundation is funded through club fund-raising activities, donations, bequests, grants and sponsors.

The foundation was created primarily to fund educational scholarships for college students from Pinellas County. Over the years, the scope was expanded for support of many different educational activities including school supplies for students, school clothing, teacher recognition, student recognition, family assistance, school and team sponsorships and related activities.

Reading Rocks is a planned 5-year project to improve literacy in underserved communities in Pinellas County through small class instructions for second graders, adult and financial literacy and free book giveaways through a special mobile classroom and bookmobile.

There are over 46,000 Rotary Clubs worldwide. Rotary defines itself as a non-partisan, non-sectarian organization. Membership is open to adult persons who demonstrate good character, integrity, and leadership; possess good reputation within their business, profession, occupation, and/or community.

The Rotary Foundation helps Rotary members to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty.

Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects.

For the 14th consecutive year, The Rotary Foundation has received the highest rating — four stars — from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of charities in the U.S.

The Foundation earned the recognition for adhering to sector best practices and executing its mission in a financially efficient way, demonstrating both strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency. Only one percent of the organizations Charity Navigator evaluates have received 14 consecutive 4-star evaluations.
